The ability to get in and out of your home becomes more challenging as we age. Stairs start to become a barrier. Many home designs today include a series of steps at the front entry of your home. So, you can either move and try to find a home with no stairs, or modify your from entry to include a ramp or lift. <\/p>\n

Here are three things to consider when comparing front entry ramps vs lifts:<\/p>\n

Space<\/strong><\/p>\n

The amount of space you have to work with and the height of your stairs\/porch will play a big role in determining your best option. For some homes, you simply don\u2019t have enough space to install a long enough ramp. Front entry lifts can be installed in locations where space is an issue. <\/p>\n

Climate<\/strong><\/p>\n

The type of weather you receive can factor into your decision. If you get a lot of snow and ice in your neighborhood, using a ramp can become a big issue. You may need to build a cover over the ramp to prevent snow and slippery conditions. <\/p>\n
